A historical home in Kentucky that was once a hemp plantation will be hosting a harvest festival. As the Courier Journal reports:
Farmington Historic Plantation will hold a harvest festival from noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 12, kicking off Three Weeks at Farmington,a series of events commemorating the national Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial celebration.
Built for John and Lucy Speed, Farmington was completed in 1816 and was the center of a 550-acre hemp plantation. Lincoln was a close friend of John Speed’s son, Joshua. They shared living quarters in Springfield, Ill., and Lincoln visited Farmington for three weeks in 1841.
Tickets range from $4-9, and all other information on the event can be obtained here. And below is a map of the location.
